FAQs
The first podcast here deals with how the city needs to improve its tourist and visitor offer. The second discusses the history of King Street in the city centre. I was discussing topics free and frankly both with Vaughan Allen, the chief executive of CityCo, the city centre management company.

It's simple. Buy a ticket for the tour you want to be part of and I'll get an email alert. I will then send a secure invitation. The good news is that even if you can't make the live broadcast, then the presentation will be recorded so you can visit it, or revisit it, as many times as you want.
The sessions will last an hour, although if people want to ask lots of questions they might last an hour and half, but of course nobody will be obliged to stay a minute longer than they wish.
Unless you've booked on the Virtual version of this tour, yes we're going underground and you should probably not wear white training shoes as things can be a bit wet and even sometimes muddy in the tunnels.
I aim for 1.5 to 2 hours for most tours and will let you know during the tour if we are running late at all.
We do not issue refunds as such but would be happy to transfer you to the same tour on another date.
A decent pair of walking shoes is a good idea and sometimes it rains in Manchester so either a waterproof or a brolly may be a good idea.
We don't call off the tours for anything other than extreme weather.

Just a short note to thank you for the guided tour of the Mayfield depot yesterday. Having lived in the North and worked in the city for many years I thought I knew Manchester quite well, but I have to admit that I had never heard of the station at all. Until, that is, I was given a couple of your vouchers as a birthday gift and checked out your website. Both my son and I found the tour very informative and entertaining, with some great anecdotes to bring the story to life.’
